Maine Integrated Playgroup opened in 2005 and is registered for a maximum of 24 children.  We offer funded places (funding provided by the Department of Education), known as PEAG places.  To be eligible for a funded preschool place, children must be 3 years old on or before the 1st of July of the year they start.  The number of funded places available is subject to change each year, and is determined by the Education Authority.  Some years, we are able to facilitate non-funded pre-preschool places and/or sessions (for children at least 2 years and 10 months old).  This is subject to availability and changes each year.

The playgroup operates each day, within the primary school grounds, between 09:15am and 11:45am.  Currently, we offer an early drop-off service, where children can be dropped off at 09:00am and are offered toast and milk or water, as well as wrap-around care (lunch provided) until 13:00pm.  These services are extra and are paid for by parents/guardians. 

The playgroup follows the Northern Ireland Early Years Curriculum.  We are inspected by Social Services each year to ensure we are meeting all requirements set out in the Minimum Standards for providing safe, high quality, and effective provision.  We are also regularly inspected by the Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) to ensure we are providing the highest quality education and opportunites for our children.

We are managed by an elected committee, made up of volunteer parents and members of the community.  New members are welcome and encouraged to join each year at the AGM.  Fundraising is a key part of our committee's responsibilities, as extra funding is needed to ensure high quality resources and experiences are available to our children each year.
