Integration
What is Integrated Education?
Integrated Education brings children and staff from Catholic and Protestant traditions, as well as those of other beliefs, cultures and communities together in one school.
Integrated Schools ensure that children from Protestant and Catholic religious and/or cultural backgrounds, as well as others who identify differently are educated together every day in the same classrooms.
It is important to note that Integrated Schools are essentially Christian in character but proactively strive to ensure everyone’s tradition is respected and included.
At Maine IPS we aim to provide a nurturing, relationship focussed, child-centered, all-ability environment where everyone can do their very best regardless of background, religion, culture, race, gender and ability.
Our Mission Statement:
Building Bridges, Learning Together
*All Unique *All Nurtured *All Achieve
At our integrated primary school, we are a happy, inclusive community where every child is welcomed, valued, respected and celebrated for who they are. We recognise that each child is unique, with their own talents, strengths and experiences, and we are committed to nurturing their academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth. We know that with these strong relationships in place, pupils achieve their very best.
Guided by our school’s core values of:
Kindness & Compassion
Uniqueness
Happiness
Responsibility
Achievement
Ee create a safe and caring environment where children learn together, build positive relationships and develop respect for one another and the wider world. Through getting to know our families, we promote happiness and wellbeing, knowing that children learn best when they feel secure, confident and supported.
Through shared learning and responsibility, we encourage our pupils to take pride in their actions, make positive choices and contribute to their school and community. By setting high expectations and offering encouragement and challenge, we support every child to believe in themselves and to achieve their full potential in many different ways.
Together, as a close-knit community, we grow as learners and as citizens, united in our diversity and committed to living out our values every day.
