To help celebrate Integrated Education Week this year the school is conducting a program of events throughout the week. The theme this year was ‘Building Bridges’. To celebrate this special week the children from Maine Integrated PS walked together from the school to the viaduct in Randalstown. Once there, the children released six doves supplied by weddingdovesni.co.uk.
Maine IPS principal Julian Costelloe said, ‘Integrated Education Week is a special week in the school calendar for us and we wanted to do something memorable with the children. As the dove is the internationally recognised symbol of peace we felt it would be appropriate and enjoyable for the children to release them from the bridge here in Randalstown.’ The school recently ran a competition to come up with a new motto for the school. The winning entry was ‘Building bridges, learning together’
