Uniqueness in P5
Diversity potions
In numeracy today while exploring capacity, P5 decided to make a diversity potion. The children worked collaboratively in groups and decided what ingredients they wanted to include and worked together to decide on the different amounts of each ingredient. The children came up with great ideas such as Religion, Appearance, Nationality, Skin Tone and Respecting different Cultures. The children used measuring jugs and paint to assist them.
We then used our addition skills to check if our potion was accurate by totaling up the total amount of liquid.
After our lesson we reflected on the deeper meaning of this lesson and discussed how as people we might present ourselves differently but we are all the same human beings who are unique in their own way!
