P2- Happiness

8th May 2026

Today, Primary 2 enjoyed a very special celebration in honour of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday.

At the start of the school year, we chose to name our class after Sir David Attenborough, as he is a wonderful role model who reflects our school values of responsibility, kindness and compassion. Through his work, he inspires us to care for our world and look after all living things.

Throughout the day, we took part in a range of activities to learn more about his life and achievements. We watched a video to find out more about him and enjoyed some of the best and most memorable moments from his work – including some funny clips, such as when a bird kept interrupting him!

We also spent time outdoors, having a picnic to appreciate nature and our surroundings. The children took part in sorting activities, discussing what is helpful for the environment and what is useful for humans, and shared thoughtful ideas about how we can all play our part in looking after our Earth.

Of course, no birthday celebration would be complete without a treat, so we also enjoyed some cake together!

It was a fantastic day of learning and celebration, and we were proud to mark this special milestone for someone who inspires us every day.

Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough — from all of us in P2! πŸŒΏπŸ’š
